    oh yes, and taxes.

    (Number 73)

Also, as a shoe fan I thought you should know how some people in Boston are giving high heels a bad name….

My thoughts on taxes? As a die-hard libertarian I have few good things to say about taxes. My only thought is that I have to do them in the next two weeks…or ELSE.

    number: 44

    Thanks! I enjoy your blog!

My thought on taxes: As long as I get a refund, I am happy! I understand the government has been holding my money without paying me any interest, but I still think of it as a windfall. A little unexpected surprise. Now, why can’t I seem to file mine???

    Number 27

Back in the day when I had one job with one W-2 and got a return, my thoughts were: EZ! (As in “1040-EZ”)

Now that I’m a graduate student who moved last year and had two contractor positions in two different states (well, one state and one District of Columbia):

    OUCH.

    Does that count?

    My lucky number is: 9

  5. Larry Badgett says:

I have been preparing my own tax return for 50 years. I saved a copy of all of them for the whole 50 years, until now. I just shredded the first 40 years. I plan to shred the next 5 years.

My number is my age 66.

    My number is 4.
Thoughts about taxes: we bought a house this year, and can’t figure out for the life of us how much the tax deductions for owning a home are changing our lives for the better…we still owe $400!

  7. Margo says:

(I’m not in it to win it)

Fact: I paid $0 for the past 2 years for TurboTax. State Farm gives it away to its customers if you use the link on their site. You have to establish an online account ID first, I think.

Thoughts about taxes: At Emigrant’s former 5% interest rate, and 35% tax on interest & dividends, I lost purchasing power on my money by doing the “responsible” thing due to inflation.

At least I had the $1150 I owed on hand to pay up this year. Damn the man!

  8. amaranta says:

i might get a contract position this year (in addition to my regular salary) and im scurred because of the tax implications!! my number is 24 :)

  9. Doris says:

OUr current system has TOO many loopholes and is way out of control. I wish the government could get it’s butt in gear and get the IRS under control!

    I pick 77!

    Thanks…

  10. Keri says:

It’s such a pain to file taxes and have to pay $50+ for a simple return all because of selling stock and whatnot
    Grr

    My number is 79
