Watching TV instead of studying

Is bad. Very BAD. B-A-D.

Vow:

I WILL:

-Wake up tomorrow, at 5:30 AM, and study

-Really, really study

I will NOT:

-Hit the snooze button until it’s time to get out of bed at 7:45 AM

-Say to myself “just 10 more minutes…”

-Succumb to the urge to watch youtube

Who’s with me?!

    Me!!

Well, not the 5:30am bit… but in the near future I will be studying for an industry exam, which is very VERY rigorous (essentially graduate-level) and takes up a LOT of time. I’ll have to get into the habit of being very diligent!

But for now, I am enjoying watching tv, hanging out with friends & going out to dinner during the week. :)

  2. Haha, I am in the same boat now. Only I don’t watch TV I just fall asleep.

I’ve got a midterm next week though, so no more procrastinating… I will get up! It helps that Ry gets up at 5 for work each day.

You go girl! I will be asleep for another hour because I needs sleep. I am with you on the studying, though, I’ve been taking home a book to study from almost every day and reading at least a few pages a day. So I need to do more than that.

I’m very BAD too. I do exactly the same thing and kick myself because I know I should be studying. Starting Monday, I plan to work on this and get better. Therefore, I’m with you!!!

Me too!! I had to take today off work to write two papers.

    Good luck!

Ugh, 5:30. I can only get up at 5:30 if it’s because I absolutely have to, not just when it would be more virtuous to do so.

When I really have to get things done, I shut off my internet access and unplug the television. I sometimes feel a little silly, treating myself like a kid, but I figure I have to work with my own psychology. If it’s easy to just click an icon or press a button and whoosh, procrastination, I WILL procrastinate. If, on the other hand, I have to deliberately plug something back in or turn something back on, I tend to remember that no, I don’t want to do that, and focus on work.
