Less than 48 hours to the weekend…

It’s 1 AM.

I’m still working. Unfortunately, everything is taking twice as long because my brain feels fuzzy, like it’s stuck in a bed of cottonballs.

Currently debating between powering through vs. taking an hour nap. But can I wake up in time?

Just have to remember:

In the short-run: just make it ’til Friday.
In the long-run: this isn’t forever.

Rinse & repeat.

OMG, that sucks and is majorly crazy! Hope this is a one time deal. :( And, at least you know what you are working FOR. It makes all the difference.

After my last job took over my life for four years, I decided with my new job that I’m not even going to check my work email after I leave the office. Nor am I going to only hang out with work people outside of work. I banned my BF (who also works there) from talking about work in our apartment. I work strictly from 9/9:30 to 5:30/6 pm every day, and on my walk home, I remove all traces of work thoughts. I also asked for more vacation in lieu of salary this go round. I’ve learned that, for me, it’s just not worth it.

Having a nap was always a bad idea for me. Cause I would never wake up. Or I’d wake up plastered to my books. Hope you made it through!

  3. I’ve been working long hours lately too…boo. I was working until 3:30AM last Wednesday. It was awful.

We need to remember that this (crappy projects/long hours) too shall pass. Fingers crossed that I’ll get a better project soon…or, better yet, that I’ll get benched for a few weeks.

Hang in there girlie, one more day! And catch up on your sleep when you can …. I hate working when I’m too fuzzybrained to think anymore.

I just came across your blog in my Google reader Recommendations section…
and i feel at a cross-roads at the moment, money vs job vs being young and living life…
I am opting to work now, let them pay for a further qualification and save – and treat myself to a travelling trip before i settle down with a house in…. wherever my career takes me in the future!

    Anyways your mantra:
In the short-run: just make it ’til Friday.
In the long-run: this isn’t forever.

    Loving it… It isn’t forver… I have to remember that :)

    xx
