No, I did not purchase a pair of these lovely pieces of footwear brought to life by the visionary Mr. Christian Louboutin.
But I think I might put it on my list of things to do before I turn 30. That will give me a little more time to save up!
If you own a pair of Louboutins – how much do you love them? Are they worth the hefty price tag? Did you buy them to celebrate a milestone in your life?
And most importantly… are you afraid to ever set foot on the ground because the shoes are just too beautiful?!

I don’t own a pair (yet), but I would not buy a pair as tall as the ones in the photo–I’d break one of my ankles (or both even) trying to walk in those! They sure are beautiful though.
I considered them for my wedding – there is the most gorgeous pair of blue sating CL’s that were *exactly* what I was looking for – but I just couldn’t justify it when there were so many other things to save for. And yes, I’d be afraid to wear them for fear something would happen to them!
I think that is a fantastic item to put on a to-do list… I might have to copy, since I love heels as well. They are GORGEOUS!
I would wear them to death.
I know the feeling. I want to own a few pairs myself. I figure 30 is not to far off, you should be fine. I figure if I own a few pairs they would be accent pieces in my closet. I would probably only wear them once a year on SPECIAL, REALLY SPECIAL Occasion, for fear something would happen to them.
I have two fake pairs. oh Deer on Amazon has a whole line of them. But I hate wearing them.
Have you been to an event, say a business reception, and seen a woman wearing Louboutins? What is your reaction?
I realized my unfavorable reaction (shallow, snobby) was exactly what I was projecting with the fake ones. I didn’t think that woman was classy and competent with good taste, I thought she was frivolous. So, now I don’t want any real ones. Problem solved!
THEY ARE HOTT!!! i’m seriously drooling here
I have always wanted a pair. I would wear them all the time. If I buy them, I will wear them, and not care that anyone notices that sneaky, red sole.
I work at a school where students are frequently interviewing and one time as I was heading back to my desk from lunch, I overheard a student ask her classmate, “Ooh, are you going to wear your new Louboutins on your interview?” I was just a little bit jealous of them but also found them to be a bit snobby. Wouldn’t we all love to be students and yet be able to afford designer shoes?
Girl, I am right there with you! I have seriously been drooling over these lately and they have become the greatest topic of conversation around my office. If they were around $250-$450 I would own them but I’m having an hard time imagining almost $800 for a pair of shoes!
I would LOVE to have a pair of these shoes…I studied abroad in Paris and walked by his shop on my way to class everyday…sadly, law student budgets don’t have Louboutin provisions!
I was given a pair — they’re classic pumps, with slightly lower heel than what he’s known for. And I love them. I actually find them very comfortable (compared to other brands), so I wear them a lot. Plus, I figure the more expensive something is, the more it should be worn/used!
omg, I love looking at Louboutins! I’m considering buying a pair for my wedding but I still think it might be too much of a splurge…but they’re so amazing!!
i *love* them but i just cannot fathom spending that much money on shoes. i think you’ll be surprised at some of the quality (and rather chic) stuff you can find that aren’t at ridiculous prices. sometimes i believe the high fashion industry has lost its head a little with the skyrocketing price of pretty much everything.
I’m still working on my ‘basic’ savings plan but when I’ve got things settled down a bit and am not living month-to-month I TOTALLY want that exact pair!
Oh to dream
One day!
I own a couple pairs and I love them. One of them I wear for work every day. It’s a lower heel than what I usually wear but it makes them comfortable and conservative for work. I love that they don’t stretch and really hold their shape.
I think they’re worth every penny. Not just for the quality and long-lasting value, but for the happy and complacent feeling you get every time you put them on and every time you see them in a magazine. They look right and feel right.
I had a pair for my 18th birthday – one of the plastic heel things (that wears down and you get reput on, I don’t know what they’re called) split and fell off after a 2 minute walk and when I sat down at the restaurant I looked at the soles only to see the red had worn away on both shoes! So disappointed I cried.
They have been fixed now but I’ll think twice before investing in Louboutins again. Next stop, Manolo’s.
