A big reason why I’ve kept writing is because of YOU, my funny, encouraging, informational readers.
Sometimes I feel like this blog has gotten a little stale – I talk about going on a shopping hiatus, saving some money to reach some goal, buying a bunch of stuff, then saving some money for another goal, then going on a shopping hiatus… Rinse, and repeat. As much as I hate to admit it, maybe personal finance (at least here) has gotten a little boring.
So I’d like to ask for your suggestions – what would you like to read about? Please let me know in the comments. Thank you!
- Are there specific personal finance topics you want me to visit?
- Did you read an article / book that was especially compelling and you’re curious about what I thought?
- Commentary on current events related to money & society?
- Do you want to see a continuation of the 20Something Money Series?
- Interviews with other bloggers (and nonbloggers)?
- Product reviews? (I am a little too enamoured with organic skincare and makeup products, and probably have way too many).
- Budget decorating / going out / entertainment ideas that I’ve found helpful?

I love the idea of budget decorating and going out ideas! I’m always at a loss for things to suggest to my friends as activities that don’t involve spending a lot of money.
For example, I just sent out an invite a few days ago for a “New Year’s Swap Party.” The explanatory invite is below…
Hi everyone,
With the new year here, I know a lot of us have resolutions to do things like stay in touch more, clean out our closets, and give to charity. I thought it might be fun to combine the three – therefore, come participate in a new year’s swap party!
Over the next two weeks, find some time to dig through your closets and dressers to find the clothes that are still perfectly good but aren’t your style or don’t fit you (I know I even have a few things still with tags that I just don’t like on myself!). Then bring them over to my place for an evening of swapping and wine and fun (and maybe a bit of Grey’s Anatomy if we feel so inclined). Hopefully we can all go home with a few “new” cute things, and we’ll actually have room in our closets for them
I’ll take whatever’s left at the end of the night and donate it to the Salvation Army.
Please RSVP either way by January 16th – looking forward to seeing you girls then!

YES PLEASE!!
All of the above! I’m a 30-something, married, mother of two with a younger 20-something sister. She’s just bought her first condo in MA and I turned her on to your blog for inspiration / motivation to save. I love it!
I liked the 20 something series. Also, i’d like to hear more about how relationships affect money
and the tips (as mentioned above) are good too!
I loved the Money Stories Series! Please do more of these. I enjoy them much more than simply interviewing other PF bloggers. And in general I just enjoy reading your story – your great financial savvy, your feelings about money (not wanting to be broke with anyone – AMEN!), and the great shopping deals you find. Keep up the great work!
love the frugal ideas for entertaining/decorating etc!
Money Stories / 20something!
Relationships + money (this is the personal in “personal finance) – and love the decorating/going out idea, too!
