Are you looking through Orbitz/Expedia? You should be able to get some 3-4 star hotels for less than $200. I know Sheraton here in Seattle is running some specials right now ($85/night) so maybe it's a countrywide phenomenon?

Either way, what you're doing is very thoughtful and they're sure to truly enjoy the amenities of a nicer place.

That's a great present!

And I can completely relate, I know that I'm perfectly happy in budget places and that my mom wouldn't mind. But at the same time, it's not quite "present-like" (to me, anyway) if it isn't something special, which generally winds up being more expensive.

Hi,
I wanted to add to your conversation:
What a beautiful act to do for your parents, I'm sure they will enjoy every moment.
If in this great world we understand "reciprocity" is what we give out that comes right back at us.
Thank you
Regards

That's so sweet of you! I don't think I could ever put up my parents in a motel or a cheap room either. I mean, they've done everything for us and made us who we are...so only the best for them! Besides, the accommodations add to the experience!
