Recently CB opened a Roth IRA. Never doubt that personal finance knowledge is very attractive. (I wonder if my money nerdism has rubbed off on him).
I am so proud of him for taking this step. 
So next time you are trying to interject some romance into your relationship, why not give your partner a card and say, “honey, I started saving for retirement!” Oh, the personal finance sparks will fly!

My fiancee J has just started getting into PF with me, he now has an Excel sheet for his budget and he reads my blog regularly. I told him last week that “he was nicer without a budget” because we wanted to go out to dinner and he said he only had a $1 left! So yes, we’re bonding over PF.

A Roth IRA doesn’t quite have the same effect on me, however, if my BF whipped out an excel sheet….mmm, he’s got me there!
So far, no spreadsheet. =[
I fell for Peanut when he told me (on our second date) about his spreadsheet. I was so proud when he opened a Roth IRA this week too, but I REALLY like watching him aggressively pay down student loans–and have his family call him for financial advice.
Hahaha. I think its time for me to some PF spark in my relationship. We’ll discuss PF over dinner tonight…
