Playing with Photoshop – Model

model before after1 Playing with Photoshop Model

The model in the “Before” looks amazing, but with a little bit of Photoshop, I think the “After” looks a lot more polished (or maybe I’ve just joined the cult of retouching?).

Because the first shot was so great, I really didn’t have to do much: (1) clean up blemishes (spot healing tool), (2) erase under-eye circles (clone stamp and healing brush), (3) tucking / defining the chin area (clone stamp – darken and forward warp tool), (4) whiten teeth (lasso tool and curves adjustment layer), (5) whiten whites of eyes (lasso tool and curves adjustment layer), and (6) darken irises (lasso tool and curves adjustment layer).

The new thing I’ve learned this time is how to define chins and eliminate double chins (this YouTube tutorial was very helpful).

What do you think of the before & after?

Oh, the eyes (puffiness/circles and color) definitely look better in the second one! And you removed her (barely there anyway) double chin! You rock!

  2. You’re doing good!

I’ve always liked playing with photoshop, but I don’t ever want to depend on it for my own pictures… Then again, I’m not shooting people, so it’s not as big of a deal nor does it seem necessary to me. ;) I’d like to be decent right out of the camera…. Or is that an impossible dream these days?

Being PF blogger, have you ever experimented with GIMP?

Hmm, maybe I have to learn how to retouch. :)

  4. you’re getting so good at photoshop! I’m actually going to lead a class on photoshop (it’s actually for community service), so I’ll definitely show them examples [yours] of what can be done with photoshop.

probably you know to use photoshop well enough, but i think the first (original looks better) at least at the eye area, the under eye circles with her light eyes create a fantastic effect that God gave her,but you removed it sorry don't like it…
