Hi WH - Keep the faith. Managers are only now getting back from vacation, figuring out 2009 bonuses if any, and figuring out the budget for 2010.

You WILL see progress starting end of this month and in February. I have full faith in you!

Best, Sam

Thanks for writing this post, I felt like I was the only one waiting. NO one seems to understand because they have their jobs. Its good to know I'm not alone.

The reason I've been at my job for 14 years is because of my hatred of the wait is greater than my hatred of my job. However, if I was in your situation I would focus on other things that are in your control such as your hobbies, family, and friends. Also might want to look at more career opportunities or maybe finding a less desirable job in the meantime if your top picks are not available. This recession is tough, do what you need to do to survive. Hate to be so harsh, but sometimes we need a reality check :/

My best advice about waiting is to try to forget that you're waiting. Send off those resumes/applications and go live your life! Follow up, of course (I kept a spreadsheet to keep track of the over 100 jobs I applied for while unemployed), but go out there and just do whatever the heck you want with your time! This can backfire, however, if you get used to the freedom - when a job offer comes calling you may feel a slight twinge of regret :-)

Patience, and in the meanwhile, pursue your passions, develop new skills, learn and improve yourself, and things will work out. All the best!
