Haven’t heard of BodenUSA? Up until a few weeks ago, I haven’t either. Then they sent me a catalog and I was enticed into their web of color and style. Don’t click on the link unless you have exceptionally good self-control (don’t say I didn’t warn you). Boden is a UK retailer who has been in business since the early 1990s. They recently made a big push to get into the US market, hence the updated website (with US sizes) and all the catalogs.
I’ve selected a few of my favorite pieces. Instead of actually purchasing these clothes, I shall just share them with you instead. And if you do decide to get something, I can live vicariously through you!
By the way, I have never seen any Boden clothes in person, but they purportedly have good quality clothes. I’d say the pricing is between Banana Republic and J.Crew, but cheaper than Anthropologie.
The styling is lovely – a great balance between classic and ladylike without veering too deeply into girly territory. I also appreciated the variety of purples and plums featured here. Deeper shades of purple can be a great “base” color like black or gray (let me stop before I talk myself into buying that sweater dress). If you would like to purchase all of the items below, they can become a permanent part of your wardrobe for a mere $842.

The flower applique skirts (not shown here) KILL me. I must have them. When they go on sale (which they will, end of season). I am lusting after their shoes too but those seem to be proportionally pricier than the clothes, so I can't justify them. But I love them.
I am hoping the purple dress goes on sale too. But what I always worry about waiting for sales is whether your size will still be available.
Ok now that's just dirty – telling us not to click on the links and then providing pictures anyway?!?
I may have to save my pennies for a quick trip to Boden when I go to the UK…
When are you going to the UK?!
They only have two stores and apparently they don't stock everything in the stores. The shipping to the US is very affordable and also, you can return to a location in PA so you don't pay international shipping back. Also, if you sign up for emails and watch your inbox, they very often have free shipping & returns plus a % off offers.
Bought three summer dresses from them last year before they came over to US sizing… all three were perfect, and they've held up very well.
Wow, I love this stuff. WANT.
Wow. That black-purple peep shoe is GORGEOUS.
Pricey though… It's just as well… I can't afford it nor would I be able to wear it. (re: I gots big bunny feet)
But so pretty!
Really lovely stuff…though I do still have problems justifying things like an $88 cardigan. Shoot, I have trouble justifying a $50 cardigan! Shoes I feel like can be more in the $100-$150 range for me (depending on style and quality – I won't spend $100 on ballet flats!), but yeah. I find most of the clothes I lust after are more than I want to spend…even if I could technically afford it.
I hope the cardigan goes on sale. Heck, I wish they'd all go on sale.
Hear, hear!
I love Boden and usually buy a couple of things each fall. I bought the ribbon cardigan you pictured and I almost got the jacket, but I didn't like the price!
